As a huge fan of Novack Jocovic, I feel sorry about circumstances that led to his disqualification on Sunday night, in an act, borne of frustration, he hit a ball which bounce strike line women on the neck, breaking the basic grand slam rule against physical abuse staff. Salisbury cathedral has just celebrated its 800 years since the lay of its foundations. It’s in lockdown now of course. But in more normal times, this is one of our most eluded ancient buildings, it inspire John Constable’s painting, which shows its 400 foot spire framed by a rainbow. The construction of the spire inspired a novel by William Golding exploring ambitions of those who set out to build at the time seems impossible. This spire also portrait the cost of realising those ambitions. Cost was not only financial but also physical and spiritual.
