It's part of century old communal hunting practice, which locals argues as part of their culture and livelihood. But this week's largest killing of the entire super port of these intelligent sensitive creatures was acknowledged, even by the chair man of local whale association as wrong and excessive. In our part of the world, coastal communities from millennia fished, and hunt, whaling was practised from bronze age until as recently as 60s. It's easy to understand our ancestors supporting themselves in tough environment, and making the most of resources and surrendered them. Nowadays much more is known about the sentients' capacity to suffer, even possibly culture and language that other wild life possess.
